Problems With Flac Conversion
« on: March 29, 2017, 06:20:17 PM »
Hi

I am having trouble flac encoding large and/or high bit-rate files in both the sample rate converter and entropy encoder.  It simply locks up with CPU usage dropping to virtually 0.  If I kill the process a file gets produced, but its corrupted.  It plays for about 3.5 minutes then crashes. Here is the error I get out of Foobar

Decoding failure at 3:45.605 (Unsupported format or corrupted file):
"C:\Users\William\Music\2L-038_stereo-DSD128_01.flac"

It also happens on your entropy encoder XiFEO
Decoding failure at 3:39.359 (Unsupported format or corrupted file):
"C:\Users\William\Music\2L-038_stereo-DSD128_01.flac"

I leave it quite a while before killling it.

Foobar encodes thr wave file from the rate converter in about a minute, no problems.

Also the entropy encoder crashes at about 50% when you use the truncate bit option.

Hopefully you can shed some light on whats happening.

The file I was using is located here:

Mozart: Violin concerto in D major - Allegro
Marianne Thorsen / TrondheimSolistene

Thanks
Bill

The issue has been fixed with the latest version of XiSRC.
